Weekend Blues

I couldn't believe my eyes when I woke up Saturday morning and saw a perfectly clear blue sky and it stayed that way until about 3pm.

We had some errands to run in the morning and then got stuck into the decking down the back. We only did about 2 hours work before it started to rain. So what did we do?

We went up on the front deck and put together the dog's new house, which we aptly call the "dog coup" because it's actually for chooks, but after a couple of simple modifications it will be the dog's new summer house.

Well, as you know good things don't last, woke up Sunday morning to the bad weather blues, and I mean bad weather - heavy fog - heavy rain - cold!

So what do you do when the weather is blue? Go shopping of course - and not just anywhere - we went to Ikea for their great $2.95 breakfasts (sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, hash brown and coffee).

We love getting some ideas for our house from Ikea.

We bought a bookcase for the decorative glass door we picked up in the seconds section for only $5.00 normally $50.00. It matches the other two doors we also picked up as a bargain a couple of years ago for $10 each.

You can't see it very well in the photo but it's frosted glass with etched leaf design.

James also bought a new digital TV aerial but couldn't put it up because of the rain. We're hoping this will help improve our TV reception and also enable James to tune in the TV channels into the DVD recorder.

I spent most of the day spring cleaning but managed to only get the kitchen done - that included cleaning all the cupboards and the glassware etc. Feels so great to get that done. Also cleared out a lot of stuff we don't use to give us more room in the kitchen.

Of course the best news of all is, after waiting just over a week - the 3G network is up and running again so I have my full internet access back - yay!!!!!

This is where I sit in my office on my computer, writing these posts. Well gotta go and get some more good work done.

Cheers,

Marieanne
