Camping January 2011

Hi everyone,

hope you all enjoyed your Christmas-New Year break! Can you believe that January is almost over with Australia Day just yesterday.

We had Stan and his dog Missy, come to stay with us last weekend. We dragged him off to Ikea for one of their great big breakfasts on Saturday morning. I'm sure he thought we were a little crazy going an hour down the road just for breakfast. Didn't buy much while we were there except for some shoe boxes. They were out of stock of the pillow I wanted as ours are worn out already even though they're only a couple of months old.

Well our Australia Day came with an added bonus to having James home for the day. We had someone turn up to look at our camper for sale and bought it on the spot. Now finally James can get his camper trailer at long last. I would prefer a small caravan now that we're getting a little older but James wants a camper trailer so that we can use the trailer part to cart things around when we're not using it for camping.

It's James turn to get something he really wants, so now we are on the hunt for a good deal. I phoned up this morning to look at one that's not too far from home. We're taking a look at it on Sunday and if it lives up to the advertisement, we'll buy it.

Unfortunately, it won't be in time for our next camping trip which is tomorrow - we are going camping for a couple of days near Sofala (our favourite camping spot - AND -it's free) as James has Friday off.

Australia Day weather certainly lived up to its reputation - stinking hot!!! Up here it was like summer had come all at once. From having cool pleasant weather to cool damp overcast rainy weather to then waking up to a hot, muggy high 30s day was a bit of a shock to our system. The dogs and the plants all felt the heat.

We got to meet the newest addition to next door yesterday while we were getting the camper ready. Jackie and Daniel have a new baby girl, Matilda just 2 months old now. She is one very beautiful looking tiny baby.

Well I'm signing off for now as have a couple of birthday tributes to make before I start packing for our trip tomorrow.

Have a good weekend all!

Cheers,

Marieanne
